Day 1: Agadir – Taroudant – Aït Ben Haddou – Agdz

Your desert road trip begins in Agadir with a drive to Taroudant, nicknamed “Little Marrakech” for its ochre walls and lively markets. After strolling through its medina, continue toward the UNESCO-listed ksar of Aït Ben Haddou. Its mudbrick kasbahs have starred in countless films, and the hilltop views are spectacular.

By evening, arrive in Agdz, a quiet town framed by the Anti-Atlas mountains and the lush Draa Valley, where tomorrow’s adventure awaits.

Day 2: Agdz – Draa Valley – Zagora – Tamegroute – M’Hamid – Erg Chigaga

After breakfast, follow the winding road through the Draa Valley, a ribbon of palm groves, gardens, and kasbahs. Your next stop is Zagora, once a staging point for caravans bound for Timbuktu.

Continue south to Tamegroute, famous for its centuries-old Quranic library and green-glazed pottery workshops. After that, the journey takes you to M’Hamid El Ghizlane, literally the “end of the road.” Beyond here, only the Sahara stretches ahead.

Meet local nomads, share mint tea, and then ride camels deep into the dunes of Erg Chigaga. As the sun sets, the sands glow with shades of gold and red. Dinner by the fire, live Berber music, and a sky thick with stars round off the day before you sleep in a luxury tent.

Day 3: Desert Trekking – Picnic in the Sahara – Night Under the Stars

Wake to the beauty of a Sahara sunrise, then set out on foot to explore the desert. Trekking across the dunes brings silence so pure you can hear the wind whisper through the sand.
At midday, enjoy a picnic among the rolling dunes — a moment that feels straight out of a dream. In the afternoon, continue exploring the vast sea of sand, discovering hidden oases and learning more about nomadic traditions.
That evening, return to camp for another magical night under the Saharan sky, with music, stories, and stargazing around the fire.

Day 4: Erg Chigaga – Iriqui Lake – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Agadir

After breakfast, leave the dunes behind and cross the desert plateau toward Iriqui Lake, a dry salt flat that transforms into shimmering pools after rare rains. From here, drive to Foum Zguid, where asphalt roads begin again.

Next, visit Taznakht, the carpet-weaving capital of Morocco. Here, artisans create handwoven Berber rugs filled with patterns that tell stories of their heritage.

In the late afternoon, the road leads you back to Agadir — carrying with you memories of kasbahs, oases, camels, and the endless dunes of Erg Chigaga.
