From Agadir to the Sahara Desert
Starting from a beautiful coastal city, Agadir, the journey unfolds magically. Agadir has one long, outstanding beach — the main destination for tourists as well as Moroccans — warmed by the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. You can begin your trip with the High Atlas Mountains as a distant backdrop.
After an hour of driving you pass the small city of Taroudant, called little Marrakech for its resemblance to the red city. It is much quieter, and once you step out of the car you are treated as more than a tourist: local people welcome you like a guest, with great hospitality.
Visit the Souk Al Khazara Gate inside the medina, where locals sell a wide variety of products — vegetables, clothes, carpets and more. Here you always have to bargain, so put your skills to the test, since there are no fixed prices in Moroccan souks! As you wander, enjoy a cup of delicious Moroccan mint tea with pastries in one of the local cafés.
